If you’re anything like us, your pets are an important and loved member of your family and you always want to do what’s right for them. To know what’s right for your pet, your veterinarian is and should always be your first point of call. However many times when this is not possible, we turn to the internet and Dr Google and they, we can tell you are not always right !
Our experience as veterinarians and pet owners ourselves is that there is a lot of inaccurate and sometimes baffling information out there. We see mis-information interpreted as fact very frequently by our clients, to the detriment of our patient’s health and well being.
The purpose of this blog is to provide you with clear, accurate and reliable information about caring for your pets. We also want to use this platform to let you into our world and our minds. This is in the hope that as we share our personal experiences with you, you will come to appreciate what makes veterinarians tick, what motivates us and what drives us. We feel this is important because it is only when you understand and hence believe in our advice, that you will treat our patient the way we want you to.
Ever got a new puppy or kitten and wondered what you should be feeding it? Ever been overwhelmed by all the choices for flea, heartworm and intestinal worming products and struggled to choose one? Ever spent the day worried about your pet in hospital unsure of exactly what they are going through? Ever wanted to be a veterinarian and wanted to know how to go about becoming on or even if its right for you? These are just a few examples of the questions and topics we intend to address through this blog. If there are other topics or questions that you would like for us to cover please don’t hesitate to get in touch and we will do our best to post on the requested topic as soon as possible.
