Dr Melissa Ngu

Ever since i was a small child, seeing animals that required help or were in suffering and pain had always pulled at my heart strings. As I grew up, this strong desire of wanting to help stayed with me and that became my driving force and motivation to become a Veterinarian.

I am very excited to have joined a devoted and passionate team of veterinarians, veterinary nurses and support staff at Lynbrook Vet, who all work seamlessly together to bring forth a high standard of animal health care.

My Philosophy

My life-long priority and goal as a veterinarian has always been to provide high quality and detail-oriented health care to each and every patient and client who come through the doors. I believe that being able to provide this standard of care comes from a place of a genuine passion and understanding of an animal’s medical and welfare needs.

I also aim to always provide clear and transparent communication with clients so that they may make important decisions for their beloved companions.

My Qualifications and training

Taking a little detour from Victoria, I completed my veterinary studies at James Cook University in Townsville, Queensland with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science in 2018. Following the completion of my degree, I returned to Victoria and worked in a very busy, rural mixed-practice clinic that saw a wide range
of patients. They came in small, large and exotic! Since moving back to Melbourne, I have now joined the fantastic team at Lynbrook Vet.

I am currently interested in further developing my skills and knowledge in the areas of small animal ultrasonography and small animal surgery.

My interests

Outside of work, I enjoy a range of creative activities including watercolour painting and getting very experimental in the kitchen! I am usually a very busy homebody and will always be accompanied closely by my little feline companion, Violet.

I adopted Violet through a rural rescue group and she has been with me ever since i was a fledgling vet! She never leaves my side at home and will always make sure she has my attention by getting up to some trouble!
