From the moment I knew what animals were, I became drawn to them.

Throughout my childhood my parents became very familiar with the local pet store, the animals on display at the Royal Melbourne Show as well as all of Melbourne’s zoos. Wherever there was an animal, that is where I wanted to be.

Most of my life I had only owned fish. That was until 2006 when I was delighted that my parents allowed my sister and I to welcome two rabbits into our home.  It was these bunnies that gave me my first real taste of what it meant to care for an animal and when my drive towards veterinary medicine grew.

I wanted to become a Veterinarian. In 2006 I completed VCE, unfortunately I missed by only a few points after having worked hard for entry into Vet Science at Melbourne Uni. Despite this moment of disappointment, I decided to push through and began by first year of a Bachelor of Science at Melbourne Uni in 2007 with the hope of later transferring to Vet Science. Life being life, threw me another curveball in 2008 and sadly I found myself unable to work or study for quite some time.

Although this time in my life was challenging for me, there were some positives to come. I was lucky enough to have two lifelong dreams come true! I became a horse owner and I met my now husband Krys.

In 2015 I was finally able to return to study and though I always dreamt of becoming a vet, by this point in my life I was just keen to work with and help animals within the veterinary industry however I could so instead went down the path of vet nursing.

I enrolled in “Introduction to Veterinary Nursing” at Box Hill Tafe and through this course I was able to gain employment as a veterinary nurse in late 2015. After over 6 years of employment at that practice, I decided it was time for a change. I was given the wonderful opportunity to join the incredible team here at Lynbrook Vet and I am truly honoured to be part of such a talented, supportive and passionate team who are dedicated to doing everything they can for all patients, clients and staff.

I have continued to collect pets over the years and currently have my amazing Greyhound Aidy, my cheeky Quaker Parrot Jay Jay and my beautiful Arabian Warmblood horse Daisy. In my spare time I enjoy horse riding (primarily dressage and showing), walks on the beach with Aidy and Krys and spending time with friends and family.
