Surrendered – June 2017
Adopted – Sept 2017
Rani was where it all started for us. She was surrendered to the Greyhound Safety Net at the end of June 2017 and entered into foster care soon after at the start of July 2017. She was a 2-year-old black greyhound who had never raced. She was quite nervous at the start and really did not understand the difference between the inside and outside of a house. It was obvious she had not been in a one. It took us a few weeks to get her comfortable with living inside and in toilet training her. She learned eventually.
From the start she was affectionate towards the adults and the children, did not show any aggression against the dogs or other smaller dogs that she met on walks or in the dog park. She had a funny way of curling into and trying to fit into your lap, despite her best efforts some part of her was always hanging in the air, but she loved it and we enjoyed cuddling her. One of the most satisfying aspects of fostering is to see the dog’s true personality emerge as it is given the chance to do so.
She was with us for just under three months before she was adopted a beautiful family with children in Bonbeach. The last pictures of her showed hey enjoying Sunday roast with the family…She is a beautiful little girl and we wish her and her new family all the very best.
