Stephanie Porrett

I’ve always wanted to work with animals since I was a little girl. My whole life, some of my most cherished relationships I’ve had were with animals – from hand rearing orphaned lambs on my Nan and Pa’s farm in country NSW, to having my own animals at home.

I began my career in Vet Nursing in 2019 when I commenced my Certificate IV and it was the best decision I’ve ever made. Never have I had a job where I feel so fulfilled and get to live out my passion every day. Some of my main areas of interest I’ve developed so far in my career include clinical pathology and developing my skills in surgical nursing.

Outside of Veterinary Nursing, I hold a Bachelor of Science (BSc), majoring in Animal Biology. I enjoy playing the piano (and attempting to sing along as well!), flying light planes with my Dad, and working out in the gym with my Mum.

At home I have 2 beautiful Golden Retrievers named Bailey and Daisy and a Budgerigar named Leo, who is as bold as brass! Bailey doesn’t have much to stress about in his life but his birdie brother is a bit of a worry – despite Leo being about a hundredth of his size! Daisy, on the other hand is her own girl, and doesn’t have a care in the world!

My goal as a Nurse is to make every patient and client who walks in our door feel as though they are comfortable, welcomed and appreciated (because you are!). I look forward to meeting you all and your furry loved ones!
