Simone Gibson

I have always known that I wanted to work with animals, and my obsession with all things horse related started at a young age with my first ever pony ride. Which quickly blossomed into an overwhelming passion for not just horses but all pets.

I have been nursing since 2013 and no day is ever the same, being a veterinary nurse is a challenging and rewarding job that has enabled me to always learn something new. Through my years as a veterinary nurse I have developed a keen interest and love for many aspects of the job but none more so than surgery, behaviour and nutrition – specifically obesity in pets. I have had further training in canine behaviour and canine training, and thoroughly enjoy taking our puppy pre-school classes alongside two of my colleagues.

At home I have two dogs, a pure bred Border Collie named Kali and a Border CollieX named Sasha. Unlike most when they move out of home who may leave a small fur baby behind with mum and dad, I left my beautiful Standardbred horse Gypsy and my super chatty Cockateil Snowball.

Outside of the clinic, I enjoy going on coastal adventures with my husband and two beautiful doggos. I also spend my spare time in the horse paddock, catching up with friends and working hard on my certificate III and IV in Fitness that will also qualify me as a personal trainer. My hope with this is that one day I will be able to combine my passion for pet nutrition with my passion for health and fitness to offer doggy and human exercise/nutrition boot-camps that will encourage a positive relationship with food and exercise for pets and owners alike while having an absolute blast of course.

I can’t wait to meet your fur babies and give them all the love and pats! Maybe a treat or two as well.
